Borneo Orangutan River Excurison P Bun Klotoks Orangutan

Centre Borneo Tour: Orangutan Camp Leakey Tours and River Excursion in Pangkalan Bun.

The tour was well organised with good communication. The boat crew were excellent including chopping trees from blocking the river! Our cook was also fantastic. Most importantly our guide, Kris was informative, fun and very friendly. We had the perfect holiday. Thanks to your whole team, especially our guide, Kris. regards Martin

We have had a wonderful experience visiting Borneo. The general feel of our holiday has been one of real involvement in the life of the jungle. Rimba lodge was a delight. Our boat crew looked after us very well as did the staff of Rimba. However it was our guide, Kris, who made the holiday much a wonderful one. He was informative and knowledgeable......and we feel he is a great guide to any tour company. Irene

Our tour was truly wonderful. It was made even more magical by our guide, Kris. His friendliness and knowledge change the tour from the magical to the magnificent. Thank you Korindo Network and Kris. Steve.

Simple, the whole portrage was amazing. The boat crew were great and we really enjoyed the amazing food prepared from us. Kris made our trip truly unforgettable and even arranged for a birthday cake to be sent to my husband in our hotel as a surprised. A really lovely personal touch. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

We would like to thank you to Korindo Network LR tours and travel teams in Orangutan camp Leakey tours in October 2011 in providing us with such as excellent guide in Mr.Edi. During our Orang Utan Experience in Borneo Edi has shown the utmost courtesy and consideration. He is extremely knowledgeable + informative about many aspects of the jungle animals, botany, history, laws, etc.

We couldn't recommend Edi more highly to anyone considering this trip. We have felt safe and secure the entire time and he and our wonderful crew have provided excellent and friendly service.

Edi proficiency in English is excellent. He is also always on the lookout to provide us with the best photo opportunities, animal encounters and natural experiences.

Edi has been able to answer all of our questions in details and we feel thoroughly spoilt and privileged to have spent the last few days with him and crews. Also meals on the boat was fantastic - two thumbs ups!!! Best Regards, Jenhan

Orangutans are large, intelligent great apes with medium long orange-brown fur, large heads and sturdy bodies, long arms, short bowed legs, and no tails. Their hands are similar to human hands with four long fingers and a thumb. Orangutans walk on legs and arms, but are able to stand and walk short distances on two legs. Both types of orangutans live in the tropical rainforest of Asia; one type on the island of Borneo and the other on Sumatra. Both orangutan species are endangered. Orangutans are a special type of primate called a great ape. They stand 1.5m tall at the shoulder (when on two legs). Orangutans, sometimes just called orangs, are the largest arboreal mammals. They love it in the trees, and spend most of their lives high above the floor of the rainforest. Endangered orangutans live in a few isolated lowland tropical rainforests on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. There are between 12-15,000 Bornean orangutans and less than 3,500 of the much rarer Sumatran orangutans. Both live in old tropical rainforests with a lush dense growth of dipterocarp and other tropical trees, at elevations up to 1,000m. Hot temperatures, daily rains, and humid conditions characterize these tropical rainforests throughout much of the year.
