Borneo Orang Utan - Orangutanes Indonesia Wildlife Trip.
Thank You for a dream comes true time in Tanjung Puting National
Park. We could not have asked for a more magical time cruising on
the boat with Dedy,Uji,Halim, and totally loving Rubiyatis delicious
meals. Dedy was amazing how he interacted with the wild life and
others tourists were impressed with his knowledge also. He could
communicate with the orangutanes on our
Borneo trip by name and sounds. To be able to
sit with 10 orangutans at once have them come up dose to us was
exciting. Uji and Halim were expert capitains and fun loving
pirates. Gilang did an expert job organizing our trip so smoothly.
Every connection was flawless and he took care of our every need.
The final night on the boat was one of our favorite 4th of Julys
(American Independent Day) we were swept away for a delicious candle
light dinner under the stars, and our fireworks were enchanting fire
flies. Wow! We totally loved every second on our orangutan
adventure. Thank you for making us all smile and giving us such
wonderful memories!

The
Orangutan trip feedback periods 6th - 9th of May 2011.
This whole experience has been one of the most unique and eye
opening trips I have ever been involved in. The planning of the trip
was so organized and smooth.
Visiting all the wonderful places along the way has been amazing
seeing the culture and the way the locals live was an insight to
this incredible country.
The whole experience of spending time with Orangutans in the jungle,
just felt like a honour and something that i will treasure and
remember for the rest of my life. Thanks for putting this great
opportunity together.
The crew that worked on the boat were superb!! they were hard
working, accommodating and so very friendly and happy. Nothing
seemed too much trouble for these guys. The food was delicious and
iam so impressed at what they can cook with the facilities that they
have on the boat. What a beautiful group of men hope to see them
again.
To our local guides, Edy and Danny, what can i say? not enough words
to describe my thanks. Appreciation for these two men. They were
knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, funny and so kind. This trip
wouldn't of been the some without them Nothing seemed too much for
them. I could ask them about anything or for anything and they would
answer or helped out straight away! I will remember them always and
hope to see them again one day!
Gilang was so helpful and organized. when the pressure was on with
delayed flights, he was on to it straight away and organized the 2nd
flights to wait! Gilang is very knowledgeable and helpful and we
couldn't have done it without him, Gilang is an top bloke!! Very
professional. NS
Trip Tetimony
The last 4 days has been the best experience of my life, and was
made even better by everyone on board Mama one (1). We were made to
feel so special and the service we got was 5 out of 5.
Our guide Eddie has been fantastic - so full of knowledge and always
making sure we are happy. He effortlessly engaged in conversation
with us and answered all of our questions. Throughout our journey we
were never hungry, and the food we were served would rival any 5
star restaurant in Melbourne!
The crew on the boat always ensured we were comfortable, and made
sure everything was done for us.
To Eddie, Gilang and Mama one(1) crew, I would like to thank you so
VERY much for taking us on one of the most amazing journeys of my
life. I will never forget it and the people that took us on it. You
don't need to improve on any thing. It was perfect.
Terima Kasih, PS: a big Thank you to Eddie + Gilang for all that you
did for keeping us entertained - and teaching us so much. Christ
Tunks.
Orangutan Borneo Trip
The Orangutanes Indonesia is a great ape with long arms and reddish
brown fur. Orangutanes are presently found only in rainforests on
Borneo and Sumatra, though they were once widely distributed in
southeast Asia (as far as southern China). Today orangutans are
highly endangered in the wild due to habitat loss (the destruction
of rainforests for logging and agriculture) and the illegal trapping
of baby orangutans for the pet trade. WWF estimates there were
around 55,000 Bornean orangutans in 2004, but the number has since
dropped largely as a result of widespread forest fires and increased
clearing for oil palm plantations. In August 2006, the Wildlife
Conservation Society-Indonesia Program said that Indonesia's
population of orangutans stands at 20,000, down from 35,000 in 1996.
Due to its slow rate of reproduction, environmental groups have
warned that red ape could go extinct in the wild without urgent
conservation measures. Genetic analysis has recently concluded that
there are three subspecies of orangutan in Borneo: Pongo pygmaeus
morio, the Northeastern Borneo orang-utan, Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii,
the Central Borneo orang-utan and Pongo pygmaeus, the Northwest
Borneo orang-utan.
Proboscis monkey
The proboscis monkey lives only in the swampy lowland rainforests of
coastal areas of Borneo Indonesia and the Mentawai Islands. These
large monkeys are best known for the male's large protruding nose.
Proboscis monkeys are social animals, living in groups of 10 to 32
individuals led by a single dominant male. The proboscis monkey is
highly endangered -- less than 7000 are thought to exist in the
wild.
