Banda naira is the only settlement of significant size on any of
the Banda Islands, located in the Maluku province of Indonesia. The
town is located on the central island of the Bandas group, Banda Neira, the only one of the islands with enough flat space to allow a
small town. Located in Banda naira are government offices, stores, a
wharf, and almost half of the archipelago's 14,000 population.
Banda naira was once the global center of the trade in nutmeg and
mace, as the Bandas Islands were the only source of these valuable
spices until the mid-19th century. The modern town was established
by members of the Dutch East India Company, who forced out or
exterminated most of the native Bandanese in order to exploit this
lucrative resource.
Where Is Banda Islands ?
The Banda Islands are a group of ten small volcanic islands in the
Banda Sea, about 140km south of Seram island and about 2000km east
of Java, and are part of the Indonesian province of Maluku. Ambon is
usually the starting point for visitors to the Banda Islands. The
Banda Archipelago is a cluster of 13 tiny islets spouting out of the
deep Banda Sea. Located only eight hours away south east from Ambon
(capital of Maluku Province, Indonesia) on a regular passenger sea
liner. While direct flight in a small 18-seats airplane takes about
60 minutes.

Wednesday
Day 01 : Ambon - Banda
Breakfast at hotel and escort you to Pattimura airport to fly to
Banda Neira island at 07.00am. It takes 45 minutes flight, Arrive
Banda airport and check in at Hotel. Sightseeing in Banda Naira.
Banda is famous because of its spices, beaches, the volcano history
and culture. (B, L, D)
Note: Direct flight to Ambon from Jakarta at 05.10 arrival Ambon at
11.55 or transit in Ujung
Pandang/Jakarta from Bali. you must be in Ambon on a day prior
departure to Banda naira. The flight
schedules to Banda Naira three times a weeks every Saturday, Sunday,
Monday at 7am and Banda to Ambon 8.20am.
Thursday
Day 02 : Banda Besar Tour
Enjoy your typical Banda breakfast at your Hotel. Cross over by boat
to Banda Besar island to visit Lonthor village. Walk the historical
360 steps up to the remains of Fort Hollandia. Return by the same
route to the beach and by longboat continue to sembayan beach for
swimming and snorkeling. Lunch will be served at the beach. Back to

Friday
Day 03 : Historical Tour
After breakfast at Hotel, a short walk to Banda local market.
Continue to local Museum see the antiques and historical articles.
Have a stop at the Dutch old church built in 1852 which have 34
Dutch Graves inside, the Palace of Governor J.P.Coen was built in
1611, the Bronze statue of King Willem III. Back to your Hotel for
lunch. Continue the trip visit fort Belgica dated back 1611 and
Hatta, Syahrir Resident. Back to Hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,

Saturday
Day 04 : Volcano Island Tour
Hiking to the top of Gunung Api ( Volcano ) 660 meter highest peak
of Banda. Start at 05.30 am from the Southside of the volcano and
you will reach summit 08.00 am or less. Back to your Hotel. Lunch,
dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Sunday
Day 05: Banda Naira Excursions
Breakfast, tour a nutmeg plantation and visit some fortified ruins
built during the Dutch occupation of the islands. Visiting the
oldest nutmeg tree, 300 years old which is still producing some
fruit and the clove tree which produces a flower, which when dried.

Monday & Tuesday
Day 06 and Day 07: Banda Naira - Sea and Beach Activities
Breakfast, relax on the island of Banda. Free at your own leisure to
explore Banda. optional activities is
diving at Banda sea (B,L,D).
Wednesday
Day 08: Banda Naira Hotel - Ambon - Jakarta/Bali. Tour End,
Extension

Breakfast, free and easy at hotel until escorting to Banda naira
airport to fly to Ambon at 9am by Buana air then connecting to
Jakarta or Bali at 13.10 by Batavia Air. (B)
